Our new Tot Shabbat Program will begin on Friday evening November 1. Open to children aged 4-7, it will run twice a month during Shabbat services, from 7:30-8:15. The children will learn Hebrew letters, songs, and stories, then join the service as we open the ark and sing "Adon Olam."  The dates for 2019 are November 1, November 22, December 6, December 20.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

I. Eligibility

  1. The KJCC Scholarship Committee has implemented financial awards to children of current KJCC members, who are Monroe County full-time residents upon their graduation from High School. The amount of scholarship is a $2000 one-time award per student upon proof of acceptance to a school of higher education.
  2. Scholarship money can be used for higher education and not limited to a college or university.

II. Requirements

  1. Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  2. Applicant must have community service hours
  3. Applicant must submit an essay outlining future goals
  4. Applicant must document 4 years of religious school attendance
  5. Application for Scholarship must be filled in and submitted between January 1 and April 1

III. Disbursement of Funds

  1. $1000 will be given upon proof of registration  in an institution of higher learning
  2. Another $1000 will be given at conclusion of first semester on receipt of transcript showing 2.5 GPA or better.
