About Us

President's Message:

You are a stranger only once – the first time you walk through the door.  After that, you are part of the growing family of the Keys Jewish Community Center.

The Keys Jewish Community Center is the only Synagogue between Homestead and Key West in Florida, a distance of over 130 miles. Some of our congregants travel as far as fifty miles to attend services.

We incorporate all branches of Judaism in our prayers without adhering to one. In order to make our worship services as meaningful as possible to everyone, we include significant Hebrew readings and chanting as well
as English readings.

Our services are a joint effort and are conducted by our lay members.
On holidays we are joined on the bema by our Cantor, Mark Halpern.

We have a Religious and Hebrew School for the children.

Additionally, our Sisterhood plans many activities during the winter months.  Day trips, card parties, dances,
luncheons, and other social events occur frequently.

We also have adult education classes and Shabbat dinners as well as many other activities.

If you are coming to the Keys, join us for a Shabbat service or dinner.
